Deconstruction

Habitat Deconstruction is the removal of salvageable items in the reverse order of their construction. This reduces the disposal of materials into the landfill. It provides materials for renovation and other construction projects to be sold in the Habitat ReStore where proceeds support the building of safe and affordable housing for those in need in the Oshkosh area.

Habitat for Humanity of Oshkosh now has two deconstruction programs to fit your needs!

Partial Deconstruction

Before demolishing a property or remodeling a room, allow our staff and volunteer crew to salvage materials like doors, windows, cabinets, flooring, and much more. Your donated materials are tax-deductible and there is no cost for this service.

Total Deconstruction

Have Habitat do it all! At a competitive price, our staff and volunteer crews will come on site to efficiently salvage reusable materials, haul off unusable waste and clear the lot. All donations of salvaged materials are tax-deductible.

Benefits of Deconstruction

  • Provides an opportunity for reuse of building materials at an affordable price.
  • It's environmentally sustainable by keeping materials out of the landfill and reducing the need for new materials.
  • Proceeds help Habitat build more homes.
  • Daily operations provide meaningful volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups.
  • Your donated deconstruction items are tax deductible.
