Selection Criteria


In general, the Family Selection Criteria used by Habitat for Humanity of Oshkosh is as follows:
  • Need for adequate shelter
  • Ability to pay for a Habitat home
  • Willingness to partner with habitat
  • Income guidelines are as follows:

    1 $13,050 $21,700
    2 $14,900 $24,800
    3 $16,750 $27,900
    4 $18,600 $31,000
    5 $20,100 $33,500

    Items to be returned with the application should include the following list. Failure to supply any of these items could delay processing of your application.

    1. Most recent Federal tax return
      • If self employed- 2 years of tax returns
      • Applicable for each person over the age of 18 yrs old
    2. Pay stub for two pay period from your place(s) of employment
      • Applicable for each person over the age of 18 yrs old
      • Includes alimony and child support, if applicable.
    3. Utility bills for 1 month
    4. Rent/house payment stub
    5. Most recent bank statement
    6. Credit report(you can print a free credit repot)
    7. Public assistance income documents (if applicable)

    Homeowner Orientation

    Habitat for Humanity of Oshkosh cordially invites you to attend our Homeowner Orientation workshops.
    • Thursday, April at 6:30 pm at the ReStore located on 1640 S Koeller St. Please RSVP by April 1 at (920) 235-3535
    • If you cannot attend, please call our office to schedule an appointment where a staff member will go over the application with you.

    At the Homeowner Orientation meeting you will learn about, the Habitat mission, the criteria used to select potential homeowners, the application process and have staff available to answer any questions. The orientation meeting is not mandatory but is recommended to learn more about the application process.

    If you cannot attend the Homeowner Orientation workshop please print out an application here and fill it out completely and honestly. Before you turn in the application check that you have gathered all the necessary paper work and completed the application entirely. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
