ReStore Volunteers

The ReStore is primarily staffed by community volunteers and we need your help to staff the store on a daily basis.  If you are interested please fill out the online form or learn more here. Meal Providers

Our crews work hard on site! To keep up their efforts, Habitat welcomes individuals or groups who wish to prepare and deliver meals to our hungry construction workers. Menus can be chosen by providers, however we ask that you call to confirm possible special dietary requests. Meals are generally delivered between 11:45 and noon. We generally recommend disposable containers so there is no need to worry about reclaiming dishes, as well as for easy cleanup.

Administrative / Office Work

From the coordination of volunteers, to fundraising, the administrative staff continually has new tasks going on. If you would rather keep your hands clean we have ample opportunities for you to help out in our office.

Particular needs at any given time are generally dependent on where we are at with present builds and other factors. Please call ahead to see what the present needs are and to coordinate possible schedules.

Construction Volunteers

If you can swing a hammer, use a paint brush, or even just sweep up some dust, then on-site construction may be the volunteer opportunity for you. Workdays start between 8-8:15 and can last until 2pm. No special skills are required, though we'll take them if you have them! You can bring tools if you want, but we'll have plenty on site. Lunch can usually be arranged for larger groups (12-15). Please bring your own drinks. Experienced site supervisors will be on site to help train any volunteer. There is also a need for experienced Crew Leaders to be onsite and teach the general volunteers the specific task of the day. Find what interests you, then fill out the Online Volunteer Form.

Brush with Kindness

Participate in our newest program to help existing low-income homeowners who can not physically or financially afford to maintain their homes. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a program that benefits the entire community.
Volunteer teams are matched with homeowners based on size and difficulty of the project. Examples of possible projects include painting, landscaping and minor repairs that increase the safety of the home and revive its appearance. Homeowners will also help with the repairs. Deconstruction

Ever feel the need to take your frustrations out on something by whacking it with a hammer? Then deconstruction might be for you. Carefully removing valuable materials from buildings that are being renovated or torn down allows Habitat Oshkosh to salvage and re-use some materials or sell them in the Habitat ReStore. Proceeds from the sales go towards building new homes for partner families. By reusing we are preventing loads of materials from filling up our landfills. Just one more way Habitat tries to improve our communities and environment.

Group / Organizations

Maybe you are interested in a team building event helping out with a Habitat build. This is an excellent chance to build camaraderie though activities outside of the traditional office setting.
